Version 1.2

Download SwitchDesk

Free. Install it on each computer you want to switch away from; the first start opens a short setup that finds your monitor, keyboard and mouse.

macOS 13 or later · Apple Silicon

Mac

SwitchDesk.dmg
Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple
  1. Open the disk image and drag SwitchDesk to Applications.
  2. Start it. It lives in the menu bar and opens its setup the first time.
  3. Allow Input Monitoring when macOS asks. SwitchDesk needs it to talk to the keyboard and mouse.
  4. Optional: allow Accessibility so the shared clipboard can copy and paste in place.
Windows 10 and 11 · 64-bit

Windows

SwitchDesk-windows.zip
Needs the .NET 10 Desktop Runtime
  1. Unzip it and put SwitchDesk.exe in a folder where it can stay.
  2. Run it. The Windows build is not code-signed yet, so Windows may warn about an unknown publisher: choose More info, then Run anyway.
  3. If the .NET runtime is missing, Windows offers to download it.
  4. SwitchDesk starts in the tray and opens its setup the first time.
